PREPOSIÇÕES IN, ON E AT

  • AT 6 o’clock
  • AT lunchtime

- We also use AT in these expressions:

  • AT the weekend/ AT weekends
  • AT Christmas (public holiday periods)
  • AT the moment/ AT present
  • AT the same time

ON é usado com datas e dias:

  • ON 16 July
  • ON Monday(s)
  • ON Christmas Day (but "AT Christmas")

IN  é usado para longos períodos de tempo:

  • IN August
  • IN the 20th century
  • IN 1979
  • IN the 1950s
  • IN (the) summer

Nós também usamos IN nas seguintes expressões:

  • IN the morning(s)
  • IN the afternoon(s)
  • IN the evening(s)

=>  Más nós dizemos:  AT night

IN + period of time = a time in the future:
Example: The bus will be leaving in a few minutes.

Nós tmabém usamos IN para dizer quanto tempo é gasto para fazer algo:
I learned to speak Spanish in one year.

Nós não usamos AT/ ON / IN depois de  last and next:
onths.

We also use IN to say how long it takes to do something:
I learned to speak Spanish in one year.
