PRESENT CONTINUOUS (PRESENTE CONTÍNUO)
O presente contínuo é usado para descrever uma ação que está ocorrendo agora, neste momento (no momento em que se está falando), ou uma ação que esta acontecendo por volta de agora.
Geralmente vem acompanhado das seguintes expressões: now (agora), at this moment (neste momento), today (hoje).
O que é importante saber é qualquer tempo verbal tem embutido dentro dele uma idéia. Portanto o simples fato de usá-lo, já está implícito isso – a idéia que é clara quando se usa o presente contínuo é mostrar que a ação é TEMPORÁRIA.
FORMAÇÃO
SUJEITO + VERBO "TO BE" + VERBO (ACRESCIDO DE "ING")
Exemplos:
SUJEITO + VERBO "TO BE" + VERBO (ACRESCIDO DE "ING")
I am studying
She is working
You are dancing.
Já falei em outra postagem sobre os verbos. Caso queira ver a lista, clique aqui. Para escrever corretamente os verbos acrescidos de "ING" devemos seguir certas regras:
Regras para o acréscimo do ING.
Em alguns verbos ocorrem algumas mudanças quando acrescentamos "ING":
1 - Quando o verbo termina em apenas um "e", retiramos este "e" e acrescentamos "ING":
Exemplos: write - writing
smoke - smoking
Caso o verbo termine com dois "es", apenas a crescentamos "ing":
Exemplos: agree - ageeing
see - seeing
2 - Se o verbo termina e, "ie", trocamos o "ie" por "Y" e acrescentamos "ING":
Exemplos: die - dying
lie - lying
3 - Nos verbos formados por uma sílaba e que terminam em consoante, vogal, consoante (CVC), repetimos a consoante final e acrescentamos "ING".
Exemplos: run - running
get - getting
sit - sitting
Mas cuidado! Não dobramos verbos com v, w, x, y no final!
Exemplos: Fix - fixing
grow - growing
4 - Nos verbos formados por duas sílabas e que terminam em consoante, vogal tônica, consoante, repetimos a consoante final e acrescentamos "ING". Cuidado! Nos verbos terminados em v, w, x , y, não repetimos a última consoante.
Exemplos: begin - beginning
forget - forgetting
prefer - preferring
